Ladies and Gents... Please post all your alpine route reports here! I want to keep them separate from the other Routes thread if possible.

Because we have a whole section for "Routes and trip reports" yet we only use one thread. Seems rather pointless.
I saw you in a documentary on starving albino Africans. Not looking so well...

This is an excellent idea Prebble! This way, those of us interested in actual mountaineering won't have to go through mounds and mounds of tat written by people who have too much love for sitting on a rock and wedging metal bits in it! .... Seriously though? I'm posting in the other thread. Otherwise with recent weather it'll get lonely in there.

What should go in here is the official trip report and by official I mean who ever can be assed to write one. Not going to argue that a full section seems rather pointless. Thanks, I am currently in talks with Trocaire for a publicity shoot. Centrefold with me staring longingly at some cheese and Bono in the foreground with a goat on a leash. For 50p a day, I can have a goat so I too can make and enjoy cheese.

If all the routes are here for the alps trip it is easier to write up a trip report! If someone was thinking of going to the Alps and wanted to read up about peoples opinions on some of the routes then they would have to trawl through pages of stuff unrelated to what they are looking for. The whole point of a thread is to be a sub topic of the board. Having one thread "routes" is pointless. It should be broken into multiple threads depending on what type of routes they are.
If we are going to convince people to move to the forum we should use it like a forum. Make it so people can find what they are looking for easily

An excellent idea. If its possible, could you take the sub threads further and designate a routes thread for Alps, Scotland, Trad, Sport and PEC? Unless that is a lot of faff. Tis a good idea to be honest. Like you said, means you don't have to trawl through a load of long Alpine route descriptions to get to a previous Mournes description. Don't designate a date or year of the trip (like in this case Alps 2012) - just keep it as a general thread title.
Also, is it possible to clear up the forum a bit? There are a lot of stupid threads set up...

Sounds good to me. Have Trad include bouldering as they go hand in hand.
